The Leibeter Award - I Was Nominated!

I had to do a bit of reading and research to find out what exactly the Leibster Award was.  I recognized the word "leibster" from my knowledge of German (what I remember) leibe is love.  “Liebster” has several definitions: dearest, sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, welcome, sweetheart.  Awww, so sweet!  <3   I have read that this award was created to recognize and/or discover new bloggers.

First, I would like to thank Lizzy's Place and Polish Polish Asphyxia for the nominations!

Now, onto answering the set of questions I was given.  I have seen in some sets of rules you can offer 11 random facts about yourself as well.  Let's see what the question answer before I decide if I will bore you all!!

1. Where would you like to go on vacation?
- I would lobe to go to Hawaii, Egypt or Australia.  Oh, I wouldn't mind a trip to Paris either!

2. What is your favorite winter Olympic sport?

- I have never really gotten into watching the Olympics, but if I had to pick one sort I HAD to watch it would be Figure Skating.

3. Do you watch cartoons?

- On occasion I will watch SpongeBob SquarePants.  I love to lose myself in it's brainless humor.  How can you not love Bikini Bottom and all it's inhabitants?!

4. What would your zombie apocalypse survival skill be?

- I think I would have to buy the survival kit offered by "The Walking Dead", they are professionals on that show and that kit should be an important item to have.  Oh and I'd have to find my friend Lizzy, she seems to be Zombie crazed so I would hope I was safe with her!

5. With no restrictions (ie: job) what color would you dye your hair?

Hot pink!  No, wait, a medium pink with hot pink streaks!

6. If safety weren't an issue would you still prefer shoes or go barefoot?

- Barefoot!!!  I'm probably most comfortable with nothing on my feet.  Besides, if I wear shoes, you can't see how pretty I've polished my toes!

7. Ever hugged a tree?

I believe I have!  It didn't hug back though.

8. For how much money would you shave your head?

- $5 million, that way, I can more than afford a new wig for everyday of the year.  PLUS I can do anything else I wanted!

9. Could you sew an outfit for yourself if you had/wanted to?

YES!  I love to sew.  I used to make a good deal of my clothes in high school, especially if it were for a special occasion, like a dance.  I'm in the middle, I made the top and skirt!  I made this

10. Do you get seasick or motion sickness?

- For the most part, no I don't. But if I ride in a car, I need to have windows all around me so I can see.

11. Do you take naps if you have time or find something to do?

NAPS RULE!!!  I have a few disabilities that leave me extremely tired so I find naps a must at times.

OK, onto the second set of questions I was given:

1. What is your favorite nail art technique?
- I don't have one specific favorite nail art technique.  I have yet to master a few I would love to be able to do, but, alas, I fail miserably.

2. What is your current nail polish inventory?
- At last count, it was around 450.  That is not to include all the polishes I have made with my little forage into the nail polish business.

3. What prompted you to start blogging?
 - Why did I start blogging?  Well, let's see, there are things I want to say and it is a great way to get it out there and off my chest.  Plus, there are a few really cool sites, like Influenster where you can receive free stuff if you review them.

4.  How many pets do you have ?
 - I have 5 Savannah cats.  I initially only got one, but she came with extras!  I didn't know she was pregnant and I couldn't bear to terminate that by getting her spayed.  So I have most of Sheba's litter.

5.  What is the scenery around your blogging station ?
- Udder chaos!!  I sit in the living room in my cozy little corner of my couch.  I have so much stuff all around me, it borders on hoarding!!

6. What are your favorite Indie brand polishes & why?
- Other than my own? I would have to say Gothic Gala.  When I first discovered the Indie brands, I looked for a few different groups to join so I could find more polishes.  I met my bestie before she had opened her shop.  She was very nervous about it as well as her 40th birthday.  I offered encouragement and was her first polish order.  The rest is history!

7. What TV shows are you currently in to?
- Wow, there are so many, I will only name a few:  Bones, The Walking Dead, Project Runway, Once Upon A Time, The Good Wife, Cut Throat Kitchen, and many more.

8. What is your normal day to day, pay the bills job?
- I am retired!  I no longer do the 9 to 5 thing!

9. How long have you been blogging & doing nail arts, etc?
- I have been doing nail art since I was in high school.  I started out with dots and stripes and who knows what else, I can't remember.  I was unable to do anything other polish my nails for over 10 years while I was in the Air Force.  But after I got out, I would do whatever as often as I could.

10. What is the weather where you are today & what is your favorite season?
- I love the Spring and the Fall.  Today it is raining.  Just 2 days ago there was 10 inches of snow on the ground.  North Carolina is a strange place!

11. Just because I liked this question... If you could donate to any charity, what would it be and why?
- I would donate to both animal charities and military charities.  I have a special place in my heart for both.  I could go on about both, especially the military, but I won't bore anyone.

I am to nominate 11 other blogs who have under 200 followers.....

FingerFood's Theme Weeks: Sparkles and Celebration

Howdy, folks!  I'm a week behind in FingerFood Themes!  So I have two for you today.  I have Sparkles and Birthday/Celebration.

The first mani is Sparkles.  For some reason, I had a hard time coming up with anything for a sparkly mani!  I think I had too many ideas rolling around in my head and I just couldn't settle on just one. I wanted to try these little stencil things I had, but they were so fragile they broke as I tried to put them on my nails!  The only one that I managed to use was the little heart.  You can see it on my pinkie finger.  I wanted a set of 3 on my thumb but it didn't work.  So I decided to take one of my striper polishes and drew the blue heart that's on my thumb.

To finish off the sparkles, I used my TipToe Udder the Rainbow to cover all my nails with a pretty, holo glitter.

The polishes I used were:

PYH Angel Cow as a base coat.  It's a holo white polish with total opacity in 3 coats, though 2 may do.
PYH TipToe Udder the Rainbow.  A rainbow, holo glitter polish great over any light colored polish so it pops!
PYH Striper in Pasture Skies was used to make the heart on my thumb
Zoya Blaze was used on the little heart on my pinkie.

Next, I have my Birthday/Celebration mani.  I wasn't sure there was anything to celebrate then I remembered my kit-dren (kitty children) are turning 1yo old on 9 and 10 February!!  Not to mention, my daughter will be 25 on the 10th as well.  25!  Wow, do I feel old....

Here are my four kitties in their party hats!  From the back:  Zenobia, Nefertiti, Osiris and Anubis.  Anubis had his back to me. As you can see, he is the king, at least he thinks so!

Again, I was stuck for ideas! I just started with a base color and let the colors guide me and what you see is what I ended up with.

The polishes I used are:

Wet n Wild Metallica
Shany polish pens which have no color names!

I usually do a lot of my nail art with very small paint brushes but I was having an unusually bad night with my hands and my tremors.  The polish pens allowed me to get a little more control over what I was doing.

So, here you have it!  2 manis in 1 blog!  I'll try to get better with this.  I've also been trying to get some new polishes into my shop.  I have all but 3 new polishes available.  Actually everything is available, just shoot me a message!  I'll hook you up with whatever polishes you would like!  Polish Yer Hooves polishes of course!!

Polish Yer Hooves can be found on Etsy here.

Until the next!   MOOO!  Leigh Anne
